Transformative Yoga is a form of Hatha Yoga. You practice body postures (asana), breathing exercises (pranayama) and relaxation. You learn about energy centres (chakras) and meditation.

 

Transformative yoga focuses on developing sensitivity and awareness in the flow of life energy (prana). As a result, you become more open, aware and present in your body and mind.

 

Yoga is based on stretching muscles and tissues to reduce muscle tension, make the body supple and free the energy pathways.  Yoga invites the body to open up, increasing the flow of life energy (prana) in the etheric (energetic) body. When the flow of life energy in the etheric body increases, old impressions and tensions (which hinder the flow of life energy), can be released and physical and psychological vitality improves.  Through the practice of yoga, you automatically become more strongly drawn to your Self. Your Self is always in stillness and peace.

The inner movement of transformative yoga is from darkness to light, from resistance to surrender, from chaos to stillness, from thinking to your heart and from fear to love.

 

The postures are carefully performed and corrected during class. By aligning the physical and etheric body in a yoga pose, unconscious body postures (which impede the flow of life energy), can become conscious and transformed. Yoga can help you become aware of chronic tension and deep-rooted habits. Because of its opening effect, your yoga practice affects the way you interact with yourself and the world around you.

 

The yoga postures and their effects on the energy centres are explained. There is plenty of room for personal attention and you can set your own pace. Transformative yoga allows you to become more sensitive and intuitive.  In each class, a relaxation pose and a form of meditation are offered, allowing you to experience stillness and inner peace. Through regular practice of transformative yoga, you learn to be more conscious and present in your life.

 

The transformational aspect of yoga is based on oneness in love, love is always complete and excludes no one. Personalised classes are open to all ages and levels.
